After The Fire... What Now?
Unfortunately we meet many of our clients after large wildfires have damaged their property. While we would love to meet under better circumstances we have the tools and skills to make the most of a bad situation. Salvage logging, land rehabilitation, cleanup and tree planting are the mainstays of our post fire work with the intention of restoring your forest as quickly as possible. Call us today to schedule a free consultation and to discuss the options available.
Funding may be available through WA DNR, Idaho Department of Lands or the USDA NRCS. Call us for more information on programs.
Due to the field intensive nature and long term commitment of fire restoration work we only offer these services in Stevens, Spokane, Pend Oreille, Bonner and Kootenai Counties. If you're outside this area feel free to reach out for a great recommendation!
The Process:
Salvage Logging
When merchantable timber is burnt the first step is often salvage logging. We can oftentimes cover cleanup and reforestation costs through timber proceeds
We carefully assess all green tress on the property with a goal of leaving as much healthy timber as possible.
Cleanup
Fires leave a mess! We can pile the remains of brush and trees for disposal, as well as clean up burned structures and debris.
Road reconstruction and erosion abatement are often bundled with salvage logging but can be offered seperately as well
Tree Planting
The quickest way to restore a forest after a burn is through tree planting. We also offer riparian plantings and herbicide treatment where necessary.
We work with local nurseries to provide high quality, native seedlings
